IBM's TechConnect 2014 Winners
Students Take Home Honors in 'Best of Solutions" Category
A team of Marist students, Conor Proce, Melissa Iori, Aaron Kippons, Kelly Maud, Chris Ahmed, and Mary Miller (shown left to right), won the "Best of Solutions" category for Early Tenure employees at IBM's TechConnect 2014.
TechConnect provides a venue for employees of different tenure ranges and experience levels to showcase their innovations and breakthrough ideas at the IBM lab in Poughkeepsie. Employees present "posters" which outline their accomplishments in technical innovation and invention, process improvements, quality enhancements, and other strategic priorities. Because of the close ties between IBM and Marist through the Marist/IBM Joint Study Program, Marist students have been participating in the annual TechConnect event for the past several years in the Early Tenure category.
The Marist students' poster "Software Defined Environment Test Bed for VM Migration and Virtual Storage" was deemed "Best of Solutions" by a panel of three judges based on the students' presentation during the judging portion of the event. As a result of winning in their category, the students went on to present their poster at the IBM Academy Affiliates Northeast Regional Face-to-Face meeting on October 23rd at the IBM Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY.
