Update 10/09/09:

Snow Leopard

The Mac OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard) operating system is currently not able to get online through Cisco Clean Access.  We continue to work with our vendor Cisco to resolve this issue and have identified a short term fix that will allow Mac OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard) users to get onto the wired campus network. This fix does not allow usage of the campus wireless network.

In order for you to take advantage of this fix, you will have to bring your computer to the ResNet Office in DN101 anytime Monday to Friday, 10:00am through 5:00pm.

At this time, we are still recommending that you do not upgrade until the issue has been fully resolved.

Windows 7

On October 22, Microsoft Windows 7 will become generally available. Users of Windows 7 operating system are currently not able to connect to the Marist network through Cisco Clean Access. This applies to both the wireless and wired networks. We are working with our vendor Cisco to resolve this issue, but it is currently estimated that a complete solution will not be available until the Winter Intersession.

If you upgrade to Windows 7, you will not be able to get onto the Marist network, either wired or wireless.  ResNet will not be able to assist you in getting on the network.  ResNet does not assist with operating system upgrades or downgrades, and will not be able to assist you in backing out Windows 7 to either Windows Vista or Windows XP.  If you upgrade to Windows 7, you will most likely not be able to get onto the network for the remainder of the semester.

At this time, we are strongly recommending that you do not upgrade operating systems to Windows 7 until this issue has been resolved. Check back for updates.
