Marist University Welcomes New Dean of School of Communication and the Arts

April 8, 2025 — Marist University has appointed Dr. Maurice Hall as Dean of the School of Communication and the Arts, effective July 1, following a national search. Dr. Hall is currently Provost at Bennington College in Vermont and brings with him a significant amount of experience in higher education as both an administrator and educator, as well as industry expertise in strategic communication and organizational leadership.

NBC News’ Steve Kornacki to Celebrate the Class of 2025 as Marist University Commencement Speaker

March 11, 2025 — Steve Kornacki, one of the nation’s most prominent journalists and political analysts, will address undergraduates of the Class of 2025 at Marist University’s Commencement on Saturday, May 24, on the Campus Green. It will be an historic Commencement season, as it’s the first for Marist as a University since the name change took effect Jan. 29, 2025.

Marist University and Hudson Valley Credit Union Launch Marist Red Fox Financial, a Unique Experiential Learning Opportunity

February 26, 2025 — Marist University and Hudson Valley Credit Union (HVCU) have launched Marist Red Fox Financial, a student-powered credit union that combines experiential learning with valuable financial services for the Marist community. This initiative provides students with hands-on experience in financial management, marketing, human resources, and operations, while offering workshops, events, and seminars hosted by HVCU.

Multimillion-Dollar Pledge from McCormick Family Foundation to Shape New Generation of Scholars, Civic Leaders, and Engaged Citizens

February 25, 2025 — Marist University is proud to announce a generous multimillion-dollar pledge from alumni Genine and Michael McCormick '88/'88/P'16 through the McCormick Family Foundation, that will expand opportunities for students to engage deeply with history, leadership, and civic life. This gift will grow the availability of the Long Reach Society and Scholarship program to more students who have a desire to achieve a major or minor in History or American Studies and how it influences industry, leadership, and global citizenry.
