John attended the Phoenix Regional Police Academy, Police Staff and Command School at Northwestern University, the Drug Enforcement Administration Executive Academy, and the FBI Hazardous Devices School. He retired from the Tempe Police Department in Arizona. He has held positions as the Director of Security at Harvard University Art Museums in Cambridge, Mass., and as Associate Dean of Students at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.  He presently serves as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Director for the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators.
