A University in All But Name—Until Now

On January 29, 2025, Marist officially became Marist University. On the surface, it was a change of a single word—but that word opened new doors, reflected decades of growth, and more accurately conveyed who we have become. This change did not alter our identity; it recognized our evolution from a small regional college to a comprehensive, global university. Today, Marist offers six schools, 14 graduate programs, a doctoral degree, top-tier study abroad, Division I athletics, and deep industry connections. The name Marist University reflects not only where we are now, but where we are going, that we are ready to lead on an even greater stage—nationally and globally.
