Honoring and Recognizing Veterans Year Round
Veterans Day Flag Raising
Marist has a long-standing tradition of celebrating our veterans by commemorating Veterans Day. Community members gather for a flag raising in front of Donnelly Hall conducted by members of Marist’s ROTC.
The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is the largest program within the military responsible for commissioning new officers. The Marist College ROTC program has been commissioning officers into the Army since 2006.
Operation Green Light
Marist is proud to participate in Operation Green Light - a state-wide initiative that symbolizes a sign of renewal and hope for Veterans.
Marist partners with local organizations, such as VetZero, who’s mission is, “to reach ZERO veteran suicides and ZERO veteran homelessness in our community – and hopefully, in our nation.”
Veteran Appreciation Day
Veterans from the Hudson Valley Region, including student veterans, faculty, staff, and alumni were invited to attend a men’s basketball game at McCann Arena.
