Marist Opens New Student Dining Center and Announces Partnership with Poughkeepsie's Rosticceria Rossi and Sons Deli

Marist College

Marist College unveiled its newest building and an exciting local business partnership in a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebration on January 29, 2018. The College’s new North Campus Dining Center is housing an on-campus location for Poughkeepsie’s own Rosticceria Rossi and Sons Deli.

Rossi’s will provide some of the deli’s most popular dishes, including vodka chicken and signature sandwiches. Consistently hailed as a favorite among Marist students, Rossi’s has also been featured in BuzzFeed as a top college town restaurant and in Spoon University as “the most raved about deli in Poughkeepsie.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Rossi and Sons, a perennial favorite among Marist students and employees,” said Deborah DiCaprio, Vice President and Dean of Student Affairs.

The new dining center will serve the needs of Marist’s growing community. “The College is at an exciting point in its history,” noted Dr. Geoffrey Brackett, Executive Vice President. “This new complex is much-needed and will provide housing for students and a new dining option for the entire Marist community.”

As part of the largest capital project in the College’s history, the North Campus project brings enhanced community space for students, faculty, and staff to Marist. In addition to housing residential students during the academic term, the new facilities are designed to support academic initiatives such as Marist’s summer Pre-College programs for high school. When final landscaping is completed this summer, the lawns and open space will provide unique campus spaces engaging Marist’s Hudson River viewshed.

The new complex will also make it easier for Marist to host conferences and large-scale events. “The College is deeply committed to the economic health of the Hudson Valley,” said Brackett. “Having the infrastructure in place to hold events and welcome guests from outside the area plays a key role in the economic engine of the region.”
