Milena Carrese
Senior Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admission
Bio
Educational Background:
B.A., Communication-Sports Communication and Public Relations, minor in Business - Marist College, 2013
M.A., Integrated Marketing Communication - Marist College, 2018
What were you involved with on campus as a student:
I was heavily involved in the admission office as a student ambassador, tour guide, greeter, student assistant to an admission counselor, and a member of the tour guide board. I was also a freshman Orientation Leader and completed weekly community service through Campus Ministry at the Dutchess County SCPA. I had the opportunity to conduct research through the Center for Sports Communication and take first place with a group of my peers in a national case study competition through the College Sport Research Institute. During my four years, I also completed five internships, including placements with the Marist Athletics Department, IMG Worldwide, and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Favorite spot on campus:
The press box at Tenney Stadium - the view is amazing!
Favorite Marist tradition:
Fox Fest and River Fest - really fun way to end the spring semester!
Favorite Marist memory:
There are so many to choose from...but my favorites tend to include a sunny day at "Marist Beach" with my friends.
Best advice for the college search:
Visit, research, communicate with us - learn as much as you can about the institutions you are interested in! From majors to clubs to study abroad to internships to sports to student life - all of these factors are important to find the school that will truly be the best fit for you.
Why did you choose Marist:
The beautiful campus, major options and support for undecided students (I changed my major 4 times!), distance from home (~2 hours), size of student body and classes, and the internship opportunities.
What makes Marist special to you:
The moment I walked on campus as a junior in high school I felt at home, and Marist has been my "home" now for the past decade. Marist is where I met the friends I'll have for a lifetime, was given opportunities to explore my interests and passions beyond my expectations, and where I became part of a true college community - aka the Red Fox Family!
