I love it here at Marist…the location on the Hudson is unbeatable, and the people here are all around very friendly. I have a job on campus in the Student Activities Office. I am also on the Ski Team, part of the Booster Club and play intramural softball, basketball, and badminton. I love math and the facilities here at Marist, especially the new Hancock Center where my math classes are. All of my professors are great and they do a good job of getting to know each of their students on a more personal level. I was surprised how easy it was for me to form networks with the professors, especially with those in my major. After school I hope to become a High School math teacher and coach in a place where I can fully enjoy the outdoors.
Transferring was, of course, not the easiest thing to do, but Marist certainly helped make the process better. As soon as I got to Marist I joined clubs that I was interested in, which helped me meet most of my friends. I think the most important piece of advice I could give to a transfer student is to get involved in what interests you, and you are sure to find people with those same interests. The friendliness of the Marist community really made the transition quick and easy!
