Shadow Days at Marist

What is a Shadow Day?

A Shadow Day is a way for you to experience a day in the life of a Red Fox. Shadow Days can consist of:

  • Sitting in on a liberal arts/core class
  • Lunch in the dining hall
  • Free time with an Ambassador to experience campus life.

We will pair you with one of our student Ambassador volunteers, who will show you what life at Marist is all about. Please note that the availability of courses within certain disciplines is limited due to student volunteer availability, so in order to preserve the learning environment for our current students and the faculty members teaching our courses, we are unable to accommodate specific class visit requests. If you are interested in learning more about specific academic programs, we encourage you to reach out to the faculty in that discipline for your questions. We thank you for your understanding.

Who can participate in a Shadow Day?

The Shadow Day program is designed for students who have already visited the campus and are looking for a second visit option. The fall program is limited to high school seniors and transfer students, and the spring is limited to accepted students only.

I’m excited - how can I sign up?

To participate, please fill out the following request form. Our Fall 2025 Shadow Day Program will begin on September 22 and run from Monday to Friday until November 25.

The following date(s) are not available for a Shadow Day:

  • Friday, October 17

We will be closing the Shadow Day request form on November 11, so be sure to get in any requests before then!

When will I receive my Shadow Day schedule?

The process of finding an Ambassador and getting approval from the professor to have a visitor observe the class can take some time. If you do not hear back from us right away, please be patient!
 
As soon as we have a confirmed schedule, we will let you know by sending an itinerary to the email address provided on your request form – so make sure you use an email that you check often! We are typically able to send schedules out within a week or so of receiving your request.
