Fox Hunt: Day 2
Now that you have surveyed the campus, you know what it takes to complete the tasks for the Fox Hunt. Foxes are known to be highly intelligent and have remarkable learning and memory skills. As Marist Red Foxes, your hunting strategies and intelligence will be put to the test.
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King was highly intelligent and skipped both the ninth and 12th grade. He attended Morehouse College at the age of 15, and upon graduation, became an ordained minister. He developed nonviolent strategies that gave all Americans their Civil Rights.
Clue #1
In 1945, Civil Rights campaigns began in the United States, and Dr. Martin Luther King was a Sophomore at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. As an undergraduate student, he gained growing awareness of social and political issues, was introduced to Gandhi’s philosophy of nonviolence, and wrote a paper that asserted that the function of education was “to teach one to think intensively to think critically.”
Task: Find the building that was created prior to the founding date of Marist College in 1929. It has grown from then to now, and from 1945 to the present it has been a viable asset to learning and educating all students and helping all students to “think intensively and critically” by providing sources of information on campus and across the globe. Once you find it, you will search for the QR code at the front door for your next task.
Note: This task is the only task that you will need to complete for Day 2 of the Fox Hunt.
