Fox Hunt: Day 4
Foxes have effective communication skills that help them adapt, know, and understand their surroundings well. They communicate through body language and vocalizations in their territorial boundaries to announce their presence, heed warnings, interact, and form bonds. In today’s digital world, communication is vital to building communities and relationships. As Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King once said, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter.”
Clue #1
This building is home to Marist’s largest major, and it is named after a person who enhanced and mastered using his voice to inform and inspire others. His words brought people together and he shared information that broadened our understanding of other nations in the world.
Task: Locate that building and take a photo. Then make a song, poem, skit, or video about what you like about being at Marist College that could be placed on social media.
*Video length not to exceed two minutes.
Clue #2
"The time is always right to do what is right." - Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. There are several offices at Marist that help people who have experienced injustice, support mental and physical well-being, and protect them from violence and assault.
Task: Find this office and collect their brochures. During your day, find three staff and 3 faculty and ask them about a time when they stood up for what was right. Write down their story.
Clue #3
There are over eighty college clubs on campus that allow students to collaborate, communicate issues/concerns, encourage responsible living, and provide diverse and balanced intellectual, cultural, and social programs.
Task: Identify four clubs and create a promo video, advertisement, or activity that the clubs could use to increase diverse membership and engagement on and off campus.
*Video length not to exceed two minutes.
