Summer Pre-College: Introduction to Digital Fashion Design
Summer Pre-College: Intro to Digital Fashion Design
In-Person Session II: July 14 - July 27, 2024
Intro to Digital Fashion Design will introduce the use of Adobe CC illustrator to draw technical drawings of garments. Adobe CC Photoshop will be introduced, and students will learn its anatomy and digitally draw various garments using proper technic. The students will learn to design and modify repeat patterns while also creating mood boards, color and fabric stories. During the two week course, students will be introduced to various trends and inspiration that accompanies digital fashion design.

Intro to Digital Fashion Design Program Goals:
- To have competency in Adobe Illustrator to draw technical flats
- Expand knowledge pertaining to various garment terminology and anatomy
- Develop mood boards, color and fabric stories
- Design and re-color textile repeat patterns
- Provide students with the introductory skills/techniques to incorporate into their digital portfolios.
Intro to Digital Fashion Design Student Learning Outcomes:
- Gain technical skills to draw flats.
- Identify various garment terminology and anatomy
- Design their own unique textile repeat patterns
- Develop mood board, color story and fabric story
Earn College Credit Over the Summer
Marist Summer Pre-College is geared toward sophomores and juniors in high school. Upon successful completion of the Intro to Digital Fashion Design program, each student will earn three (3) transferable college credits for the Marist College course.
Program Cost
Please see below for the 2024 Pre-College program costs. Cost includes tuition & fees, housing & all meals, field trips, and all course materials. Cost does not include travel expenses. Students may wish to bring funds for incidentals, shopping at the Marist Bookstore or the local mall, souvenirs, and any personal items they wish to purchase.
