Honors Medal Ceremony

Commencement exercises begin with the Honors Program Medal Ceremony on Friday morning. Dr. Carolyn C. Matheus, Director of the Honors Program at Marist College, serves as the event emcee. The program includes an introduction, keynote speaker, and the presentation of awards and medals to students from six schools who completed research in the Marist Honors Program.
The Marist Honors Program strives to keep students academically challenged while building character, cultivating leadership skills, and emphasizing the importance of civic learning and global citizenship. Students complete a rigorous program of study, taking seminar-style classes on important intellectual and social topics with Marist’s top faculty and completing two research projects with the guidance of faculty mentors.
