Bio

Matt Frieburghaus creates video, sound, print, and objects using processes that manipulate media. He is interested in sensory perception and recording natural phenomena to explore hidden aesthetics or new relationships between sight and sound. His work has exhibited nationally and internationally at festivals, galleries, and museums including Boston Cyberarts Gallery, Bronx Calling: The Second AIM Biennial, Everson Museum of Art, Festival Miden, Field Projects, FILE, Garrison Art Center, Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, Matteawan Gallery, Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, and Verge Art NYC. He has exhibited at university galleries including Foster Gallery at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire; Hartell Gallery at Cornell University; Lowe Art Gallery at Syracuse University; the University of Albany Art Museum; and Work • Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan. His work has appeared in Arte Fuse, Volume One Magazine and in several Hudson Valley publications. He teaches courses for the Digital Media program including Introduction to Digital Media, 3D Modeling, and 3D Animation.
