Congratulations to the MHRBPC teams for their Success at the New York State finals!
The New York Business Plan Competition (NYBPC) announced its 2024 Grand Prize winner, Eutrobac, from Hamilton College, as well as other prize winnders at the state-wide competition that took place at ETEC at the University of Albany hosted by the Upstate Capital Associate of New York on April 25, 2024.
We are thrilled to announce the outstanding achievements of the MHRBPC teams at the NY State finals and congratulations to the winners. FishMate, from the United States Military Academy at West Point, secured the second place in the Products & Hardware track, while Dispose O’ Oil, from SUNY New Paltz, won second place in the Food & AgTech track. On The Hook, from Iona University, won third place in the Safety, Power & Mobility track, and the Concept stage award went to Game Day Ready from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

2024Mid-Hudson Regional Business Plan Competition and Results!
We are delighted to share the exciting news of the 12th annual Mid-Hudson Regional Business Plan Competition held at Marist College on April 5, 2024. The Mid-Hudson region has seen remarkable growth and participation this year as we witnessed an increase in interest from regional colleges, receiving over 50 applications from 10 different colleges. Out of these impressive entries, 39 exceptional teams met the competition's criteria and presented their innovative business ideas and ventures at the regional competition.
The event brought together a diverse group of aspiring entrepreneurs, industry experts, and investors to foster entrepreneurial spirit in the region. The competition highlighted the talent and creativity present in our community with cutting-edge business ideas and concepts. As students competed in six tracks and came together to present their plans to a panel of esteemed judges, it was truly inspiring to witness the enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication of all the participants. Thanks to our sponsors of the MHRBPC, first and second place teams in each track received awards. Each first-place team was awarded $1,000, while the 2nd place winners received $500.
The top two winning teams in each track competed at the NYBPC state finals, and were judged in three rounds, first round asynchronous judging, then in-person for the 2nd round and 3rd round in the New York Business Plan Competition Finals on April 25, 2024.

Our Mission
The Mid-Hudson Regional Business Plan Competition encourages students to learn how to compete, develop a business plan, think like an entrepreneur, and transform their idea into a new business venture while providing them with tools, funding, and resources available in the New York state area.
We hope to motivate and inspire student teams from colleges and universities across all seven counties (Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester) of our region to compete for the opportunity to move on to the statewide competition in Albany.
The Mid-Hudson Regional Business Plan Competition (MHRBPC) has grown each year with increased enthusiasm from regional colleges and their teams of passionate student entrepreneurs. Students have “Perfected their Pitch” showing passion, sophistication, and commitment, turning ideas into reality.

Business Plan Competition:
The Mid-Hudson Regional Business Plan Competition, along with the New York State competition, represents a unique opportunity for entrepreneurial students to engage with business and government leaders, angel investors, venture capitalists, and public investors, and get invaluable feedback for the potential launch of their business venture. Hosting the regional competition at Marist College, student teams will have a unique opportunity to present their business plan ideas, work with mentors, and receive valuable feedback.

The NYBPC, New York’s statewide intercollegiate business plan competition, includes content, mentorship, and prize money for eligible students enrolled in 2-year and 4-year colleges and universities in New York state. The NYBPC will award $100k in prize money.
Since 2010, this program has helped launch 100s of student-led ventures, providing over $1M in prize money and supporting over $150M in private investment and economic value.
First place winners receive cash prizes and ongoing mentorship to advance their student-led ventures. The competition starts with students competing in all 10 regions across the state in March and April and culminates with finalists from each region competing at the state level for recognition and prize money in April.
Over 7,000 students from all 10 regions (Mid-Hudson, New York City, Long Island, Capital Region, Mohawk Valley, North Country, Central New York, Southern Tier, Western New York, and the Finger Lakes) competed in regional competitions since.
From the New York Business Plan Competition, more than 100 businesses have been started, and the NYBPC has seeded over $150M, yielding over $20M in additional funding for these startups.
