An image of a letter being caught by a fishing pole with the text "Gone Phishing"
Have you seen something new at the top of your emails?
The message You don't often get an email from... is a Microsoft safety tip. It will show at the top of an email for two reasons:
- It is the first time you get an email from a particular Sender.
- You don't get frequent messages from the Sender.
The message is meant to draw your attention to the Sender address to thwart a potential impersonation attempt or other malicious email, such as phishing or malware.
If you feel confident of the sending address you can ignore the safety tip or add the sender address to your Safe Sender list.
As always, if you are unsure if an email is legitimate, you can forward the message to phishing@marist.edu
