- This email may appear to come from a valid Marist email address
- The message is personalized to the recipient
- The message contains details that make it look valid, such as claiming it is "secure encrypted" and that it is from the "Marist.edu Mail team"
- File sharing platforms are common ways to send important information
- The phishing website looks exactly like the Marist College login page
Why this is phishing
- The file sharing information does not look like Microsoft OneDrive, Sharepoint, or any other common file sharing platform
- The link in the message does not go to a Marist College website or related service
- There are no details about the data that is supposedly being sent
