An image of a letter being caught by a fishing pole with the text "Gone Phishing"
Why this looks valid
- The email looks like it is from the Marist IT Help Desk
- The Help Desk normally notifies users when their password are about to expire
Why this is phishing
- The Keep Current Password link goes to a website that asks for your email address and password, but it is not the Marist login screen
- Grammar errors and spelling errors are usually indicative of a suspicious email
- The Marist IT Help Desk does not allow users to "keep" their current password
- The link in the email does not go to any recognized Marist website or verified 3rd party
