Frequently Asked Questions

For single day events, 45 days notice is requested.

For larger groups or conferences that span multiple days, requests should be made at least six months in advance. 

Please allow 14 days from the submission date for response from a member of the college events team. Event approval will be determined based on institutional policies, resources, and facility availability.

Yes, Marist offers free parking for event guests in designated locations.   

A dedicated event sponsor is an approved member of the Marist faculty or staff who works closely with the Office of College Events to facilitate planning, contracting and insurance with a community organization that is hosting an approved event at Marist. This endorsement assists prioritization of approvals for those whose focus most closely align with our mission, strategic plan, and benefit our students, faculty, and staff. The sponsor or their designee must be present for the event.  

The College will assess a rental fee for external use of campus facilities. Rental fees vary based on event type, requested venue, and estimated number of attendees. Rental fees do not include catering or food and beverage service.

A fully executed contract outlining terms of agreement, insurances, and rental fees associated with the event is required. 
 

Yes, Gourmet Dining provides on campus catering services. Gourmet Dining has an exclusive contract with Marist.

After an event is approved, the Marist Events staff will help you navigate catering options.

The Marist Guest WiFi network provides basic internet access to campus guests without having to request network access.  

Marist is in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., with a variety of overnight accommodations, restaurants, and seasonal attractions nearby. During the academic year, Marist does not offer on-campus overnight accommodations. Event requests with overnight accommodations will be considered between June 1 and July 30.

Marist is located approximately 80 miles north of New York City.  

The Poughkeepsie train station is located one mile south of campus with direct services to New York City on Metro North and Amtrak. Local taxi, Uber and Lyft drivers are available for local transportation.  

Yes, our campus is fully accessible and compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The college event team will evaluate requests on a case-by-case basis and cross-reference campus event calendars, prior to providing approval. We generally do not allow events on campus during signature campus events including, but not limited to Commencement, family weekend, admission open house and admitted student days, and college-recognized holidays.
