The Academic Experience

Students get to choose and, not or, when it comes to their education at Marist. They can easily combine majors, minors, and concentrations to fit their passions through a distinct blend of liberal arts and professional education.

Our faculty are teachers, scholars, artists, and practitioners. They are mentors and advisors. In addition to classroom instruction, they help students connect to research opportunities, internships, and other experiences to think about the world in new ways. This distinct blend develops our students into skilled leaders and professionals who are prepared for the ever-changing workplace upon graduation.

Expand your perspective

Marist students can mix and match their coursework in all six schools, regardless of their major. Students can combine programs of study and other experiences with flexibility to match their personal passions. We want you to create your own unique Marist experience!

Experiential Learning Helps Discover Passions, Develop Skills

A complement to the classroom experience, experiential learning empowers students to explore, create, and grow—in the lab, on campus, in professional settings, and around the world. Marist’s modern, high-energy spaces are built for students to merge technical skills with critical thinking through applied, real-world experiences. Students have access to immersive opportunities like research, study abroad, service learning, and internships that deepen their understanding and broaden their perspective.

Take a one-minute video speed tour with Sierra and explore several standout experiential learning opportunities—open to students of every major.

Marist faculty regularly bring students into research projects, and help students pursue individual research interests. Research can be presented at local, regional, national or international conferences, as well as on campus at our Celebration of Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity. Many students who have completed research projects have gone on to prestigious post-graduate scholarship1 and fellowship opportunities.

Did you know? Marist is regularly recognized as a top producer of Fulbright scholars. We challenge students to step outside their comfort zone and grow.
