What are your career goals / academic goals?

My current career goals are to continue training in the field of critical care medicine, more specifically cardiology. I plan to go back to school to get my PhD and eventually would like to teach critical care medicine at PA programs.

Tell us about a project or course that was particularly meaningful to your professional development / academic development.

I really enjoyed emergency medicine because it started to teach us the hands-on skills that I still use today. I use many of the lessons taught in that class and apply them during the acute moments at work. I also enjoyed clinical medicine II where we focused on cardiology which is part of the field I practice in today.

Tell us about a meaningful experience you had at Marist as it pertains to your degree (whether that be with a Professor, Marist service, Scholarship opportunity, etc.).

I really enjoyed being able to do service projects at Marist. We were able to volunteer at the Children’s home and the Anderson Center while I was there, and it was a very fulfilling experience.

What advice would you give to a student considering pursuing this degree at Marist?

My advice would be that there are going to be some very challenging times during PA school, but your classmates, professors, and staff are there to support you the entire time and will get you through it all. Keep an open mind and be receptive to feedback so that you can grow as a student and a future PA.
