Dear Marist students,

We’re looking forward to welcoming our students back to campus, and planning is already underway for a fully residential campus experience this fall. The health and safety of all members of our community is central to that planning and Marist will continue to rely on our medical advisory team and public health guidance to inform our decision-making. With this in mind, we are writing to provide important updates as a follow-up to President Murray’s May 21, 2021 communication regarding the COVID-19 vaccine requirement for the 2021-2022 academic year.

We’re excited for the return of everything that makes Marist a unique and vibrant place to live, learn, and work. From in-person dining, to classroom instruction, Division I athletics, club sports and intramurals, to student activities and events, we need your help to bring the Marist community back stronger than ever.

All students, faculty, and staff must complete an acceptable vaccine series (e.g. a single shot of Johnson & Johnson or second shot of Moderna or Pfizer, or other vaccines on the World Health Organization- Emergency Use List) and upload official documentation no later than August 1, 2021.

• When you have completed your COVID-19 vaccination, please upload official documentation here: marist.medicatconnect.com.
• If you have already uploaded your information, you can verify its status through the following instructions. Please do not contact Health Services to confirm the status of your upload.
• If you need help finding a vaccination site:
  • New York: Visit New York State’s vaccination site: am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov to schedule an appointment.
  • All Locations: Utilize Vaccine Finder, a centralized, searchable database, to track vaccine availability in pharmacies, health care providers, and municipalities across the United States.
• If you wish to request an exemption for the COVID-19 vaccine requirement for medical or religious reasons, please click here to fill out an exemption request form. Requests for exemptions will be reviewed by the College starting July 15, 2021.

After such a challenging year, we are all eager to get back to our unique Marist College on-ground experience, and vaccinations have proven to be a critical component of the public health of many communities the world over. We know these are still uncertain times, but we believe the College’s approach to rely on the public health expertise that helped us navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic will also allow us to work our way through to a more normal academic year starting in the Fall.
