Dear Marist students,

I hope this email finds everyone well.  I’ve only been at Marist for a little over a week now, but it has been exciting to say the least!  I am absolutely thrilled to be here.  Thank you for the warm welcome I’ve received from you in the many ways we’ve connected…in formal meetings with student leaders, at your performances and games/matches, and when we’ve crossed paths on campus.  I am here for you; please do not be shy about introducing yourself to me, and I’ll keep doing the same.  It’s already clear to me that Marist is a very special community, and I look forward to continuing to interact with you in the weeks, months, and years ahead. 

I also look forward to continuing to connect with you in a variety of ways, ranging from formal meetings with the leaders of student organizations to spontaneous discussions when we see each other on campus.  Do not hesitate to tell me what’s on your mind, especially if it includes constructive and proactive ideas on how we can work together to improve this amazing place.

As I noted in the interview I did with The Circle before I arrived, I’d also like to hold office hours. I invite you to schedule a time to drop by my office for any reason…simply to say hello and tell me about yourself (each one of you has a fascinating personal story, and I’m eager to hear yours), ask any questions on your mind, make recommendations for me (I’m new here! If you have an idea, I’m all ears), voice any concerns you might have, and make suggestions for how you think Marist can become better.  Appointments will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and will be limited to 15 minutes each in order to accommodate as many students as possible.

Tuesday, October 19: 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Monday, October 25: 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Thursday, November 11: 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Friday, November, 19: 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Tuesday, November 30: 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Friday, December 10: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

To request an appointment, please send an email to President@marist.edu.  In your message, it would be helpful to include the topic you would like to discuss with me.  All appointments are in the Greystone building and, as per College policy, face masks are required.
