September 22, 2026 – Marist University has been named to a new national college ranking from TIME that emphasizes student outcomes.

Unlike traditional rankings built largely on reputation or selectivity, the TIME ranking's student outcomes pillar, which includes graduate earnings, completion rates, and return on education, accounts for 75% of a school's overall score.

The “Americas Best Colleges 2026-2027” list, developed by TIME and research firm Statista, also assesses schools on their learning environment and their overall attractiveness to prospective students.

Marist's most recent five-year outcomes report shows 94% of graduates employed or attending graduate school within six months of graduation.

Among the most recent graduating class, 83% completed at least one internship, research experience, or fieldwork placement before graduating.

The Center for Career Services, along with career-focused programming such as the Road to the Workplace series and the University's expansive network of alumni mentors, plays a central role in connecting students to internships and job opportunities before they graduate.

"At Marist, we encourage students to engage with Career Services early and often while pursuing experiential learning opportunities and building meaningful connections with alumni and employers," said Mary Jones, Executive Director of the Center for Career Services. "Through internships, alumni-employer partnerships, career fairs and programs, and opportunities to engage with professionals in their fields, students connect classroom learning with the world of work.”

Marist's emphasis on experiential learning, including internships, study abroad, and hands-on research opportunities across disciplines, is central to the University's approach to preparing students for life after graduation. 

“These outcomes reflect the value of providing students with access to opportunities throughout their Marist experience to explore their interests, develop their skills, and take meaningful steps toward their future careers,” Jones said.

TIME’s methodology draws on federal datasets, including the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard.
