Updated Move-Out Procedures and Deadline, April 13, 2020

Dear Students and Parents

I want to update you about some changes Marist has made regarding residence hall move-out procedures.  As a follow-up to my March 18th e-mail,  over 2,500 students have moved out of the residence halls with an average of 4 or 5 students collecting their belongings on a daily basis. In light of the recent extension of New York Pause, we have made the decision to extend the move-out period for the remaining 1,000 students whose belongings are still on campus. We’d ask that you review the options below with your family and let us know your plans as soon as possible.

  1. The timeframe to pick up belongings has been extended until Sunday, May 17th. We request that you e-mail housing@marist.edu with the date and approximate time of arrival to assist with planning, and to ensure Marist has the necessary staff to assist with social distancing and high touch area cleaning.
  2. If you are unable to return to campus to pack up your belongings directly, the College has negotiated a rate with Arnoff Moving and Storage to assist with packing and shipping/storing belongings. Interested individuals should contact Brian Gemmel directly at 845-471-1504 ext 463 or email him at bgemmel@arnoff.com.  Please mention the code “Red Fox” to receive the special pricing.

We recognize that this is a very difficult time and are available to discuss special circumstances on an individual basis.  Please email housing@marist.edu and someone from the Housing Office will respond to assist you with your concerns.

I hope you, your families, and your loved ones are staying safe during these difficult times.

Sincerely,

Deborah DiCaprio
