Andrea Conner

Vice President, Student Affairs

Bio

With more than 25 years of experience in student affairs, Andrea Conner leads initiatives that empower students, strengthen support systems, and foster inclusive, student-centered environments at Marist. As Vice President for Student Affairs, she collaborates with partners across campus to improve the life of the student, and oversees all departments in the area (including the Dean of Students office, Residence Life, Student Activities, Accommodations and Accessibility, and First Year Experience, along with direct supervision of Health Services, Counseling Services, Campus Safety, Spiritual Life and Service, and Civic Engagement & Leadership). She also serves on both the President’s Advisory Council and Cabinet, ensuring that student success and the student experience are central to institutional planning, decision-making, and initiatives.

Andrea has served as Marist’s Vice President for Student Affairs since August 1, 2024. Previously, she provided leadership as the chief student affairs officer for ten years at Coe College, her alma mater, Lake Forest College, and Grinnell College. She gained prior experience in residence life, student activities, and orientation at Bard, Knox, and Macalester Colleges. 

Andrea currently serves on the James E. Scott Academy Board for NASPA, the premier national student affairs organization, which advises NASPA and provides thought leadership on critical issues in student affairs and higher education. Previously, Andrea also served on the board for the Small College and University Division of NASPA and has presented both regionally and nationally on topics related to student life and well-being.
