Emily Griffen
Vice President, Chief of Staff and Liaison to the Board of Trustees
Bio
Emily Griffen joined Marist University in April 2025 as Vice President, Chief of Staff, and Liaison to the Board of Trustees, bringing her expertise in academic leadership and change management to support the University's ambitious institutional agenda. In this role, Emily serves as a strategic and operational partner to the President, coordinates the work of the senior leadership teams, advises on governance, and manages the operations of the Board. Before joining Marist, Emily worked at Amherst College for over a decade, where she served as Executive Director of the Loeb Center for Career Exploration and Special Advisor to the Provost. At Amherst, she secured major philanthropic support for career services and launched innovative programs focused on universal internship participation, career mentoring for first generation college students, and decoding the professional skill-building embedded in arts and humanities studies. Previously, Emily spent five years at Columbia University in career services and executive education roles.
