Computer Science and Mathematics
A message from Dean Roger Norton:
"One of the responsibilities that has given me tremendous amount of satisfaction since assuming the position as Dean of the School of Computer Science & Mathematics has been working with the Deans' Circle students. Over the last two years the Deans' Circle, along with faculty within the School, have organized an outreach program in which students taught computer skills to clients from Good Council (a home for unwed mothers) and Hudson River Housing (an organization that provides housing for the homeless). The clients learned resume writing, home budgeting and other useful computer skills. This activity was a valuable and enriching experience for the Dean's Circle students. I hope that we will be able to continue doing similar activities and that future participants in the Deans' Circle will think of other exciting and rewarding activities that can enhance their experiences while here at Marist College."

Science
A Welcome Message from Dean Alicia Slater:
"Welcome to the Dean's Circle. In addition to Dean's Circle events, I hope to have the opportunity to interact with you on and off campus. Membership of the Dean's Circle provides access to the Dean and I will always make myself available to meet with you. In addition I hope you take advantage of all the resources and facilities available to you to study science in the Hudson Valley such as the majestic Hudson River, health related internships, and undergraduate research opportunities."

Social and Behavioral Sciences
A message from Dean Deborah Gatins:
"The major fields of study in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences often attract students who are interested in working with people to shape and develop people, to encourage and influence people to achieve their goals. The faculty of the School are attracted to these disciplines for the same reasons. As a Deans' Circle student you have been identified as a student who can make the most of every opportunity and we will engage with you to support this happening.
Opportunity is all around you on the campus: in the community, nationally and internationally, opportunities to learn, to serve and to have fun. Sometimes there are so many opportunities that it is not always clear what choices to make. My role and the role of your faculty advisor is to get to know you, to know what you want for yourself and to help you make choices about all the wonderful opportunities that are available to you. Sometimes we may participate directly with you in learning activities and social events, working on research together, attending conferences or perhaps, a sail on the Hudson River. Other times we may make suggestions or recommendations about specific activities that will support your goals.
I look forward to making the most of our opportunities together."
