What were you involved with on campus as a student?

During my time on campus, I was involved with the Hispanic Latino Club. However, most of my time was spent off campus at the ice rink. Throughout college, I figure skated competitively and for fun!

Favorite spot on campus:

Definitely the riverfront! It’s a great place to catch a beautiful Marist sunset, take a walk, have a picnic, or relax with some friends.

Favorite Marist tradition:

My favorite Marist tradition is Riverfest! This event happens during Senior Week and is right by the riverfront. You get to dress up, celebrate, and reflect on the past 4 years with your senior class. You even get to see the faculty that helped you along the way.

Favorite Marist memory:

Study Abroad! My whole study abroad experience was incredible! However, I will never forget stepping off the plane in Madrid, Spain, and meeting my host mom for the semester. She was the absolute best host, made great food, and made Madrid feel like home for me. We talked for hours on end! At the end of the semester, we exchanged gifts, and she gave me a necklace that I still wear today!

Best advice for the college search:

My advice is to start early and set deadlines for yourself. I enjoy planning, which is what I did when searching for colleges so I could be well prepared for that May deadline. This time can easily become stressful, and it's important to plan. Your future self will thank you, and it’ll also make the process a lot easier. The college search is supposed to be exciting!

Why did you choose Marist:

I chose Marist because of the study abroad opportunities. I knew that I was going to commute to college all four years, so I wanted the opportunity to branch away from home at some point. The study abroad office made the process seamless and the adjustment to another country as well.
Marist has many different study abroad programs, so it was hard to choose. However, I knew I wanted to study abroad in Spain, and I am grateful I received the opportunity to do so.

What makes Marist special to you?

The people. We have a great community on campus; everyone is genuine, and we all share the common goal of succeeding. It felt great to be in a space where everyone is driven and pushing you to be your best. Also, the Red Fox bond is strong! It’s fun to be somewhere and see a red fox flag or sticker and immediately take a picture or strike up a conversation to talk about your Marist experience.
