Help Us Recruit New Students

Join Marist’s Alumni Ambassador Program (MAAP), a group of alumni volunteers and ambassadors who support the undergraduate admission team in recruiting applicants and enrolling newly admitted students. As our applicant pool grows, MAAP provides meaningful assistance for student recruitment efforts by identifying students with extraordinary academic achievement, potential, and talent. Alumni engagement helps build relationships with prospective students and families, while strengthening the Marist reputation. Together, we will enroll motivated students globally, connecting them to a memorable college experience.

Information Sessions

Information session Volunteers assist admission staff with regional events designed to engage with prospective students and their families. Duties include: helping prepare a venue,; greeting and checking in participants, and mingling and answering questions.

Digital Outreach

Alumni volunteers are invited to connect with admitted students via email. The admission team will inform volunteers about admitted students in their region and invite them to write passages that can be sent to these prospective students.

Interviews

Alumni interviewers share their Marist experience with prospective students; and convey their impressions of candidates to the admission committee. Training is provided and conversational interviews will be assigned by the admission committee. Interviewers of admitted applicants can make congratulatory phone calls to those students.

Interviewers complete 4-6 interviews in the fall. This step in the application process is optional for students.

College Fairs & School Visits

Marist participates in college fairs and information sessions organized by high schools, regional associations, and special interest groups around the country. Marist alumni volunteers represent the College in discussions with prospective students, parents, and school counselors at these events. The admission team manages all registration details and provides volunteers with materials and guidelines for success.

Receptions & Panels

Receptions, which often include alumni panels, are held around the country for prospective students and families to learn about the Marist experience. The format ranges from casual weeknight gatherings, or a weekend program held in the home of a Marist community member or a local event venue. Duties include interacting with families and serving as ambassadors to welcome them to the Red Fox Family.
