Technology Open House
Sunday, November 12, 2023 @ 10 a.m.
Join us for our Technology Open House to learn more about our technology majors, including Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science & Analytics, Game Design and Programming, and Information Technology and Systems. You'll have the opportunity to hear directly from the Dean of the School of Computer Science and Mathematics, and mingle with our faculty and students in our breakout tours that showcase our facilities.

The Computer Science program at Marist offers numerous opportunities for you to focus your curriculum on your career goals. Along with multiple concentrations and a minor, we also offer two 5-year dual-degree opportunities that allow you to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in just one extra year.

Marilyn Kienzle
Serving as Director of Enterprise Computing Education, Marilyn has over 25 years of experience working with IBM mainframes, both as a software engineer and a systems programmer, in various roles such as customer technical support, technical education for beta programs, and mainframe systems administration.
Alan Labouseur
A recipient of the Marist Board of Trustees’ Faculty Award for Distinguished Teaching, Dr. Labouseur co-invented the subfield of Dynamic Data Quality, which, along with research interests in large-scale graph databases and cybersecurity analytics, keeps him busy inside and outside the classroom.
Ron Coleman
A two-time recipient of the IBM Faculty Innovation Award, Ron has worked for AT&T as a software developer, at IBM as an advisory engineer in the Supercomputing Systems Lab, and Citigroup as a software developer, analyst, and vice president in risk management technology. His research focuses primarily on software development, parallel computing, and games.
Innovative Technology Provides Hands-On Experience
Regardless of your interests and career goals, Marist has developed a wide range of labs and facilities designed to provide you with a wide range of hands-on learning opportunities. Work with IBM professionals in our Cloud Computing and Analytics Center, research cybersecurity of products in our Internet of Things Lab (pictured below), conduct research in our Enterprise Computing Research Lab, practice networking skills in our Networking Lab, and practice hacking and preventing breaches in our Security Operations Center.

Recognized as one of the 25 Most Connected Campuses in the U.S. by Princeton Review and Forbes, Marist has garnered meaningful partnerships with major institutions in technology, including IBM. Through the Marist/IBM Joint Study program, you can participate in testing of IBM’s new concepts and technology right here on campus in our Enterprise Computing Lab, our Internet of Things (IoT) Lab, and our Cloud Computing and Analytics Lab. The partnership also grants our students access to conferences like IBM’s TechConnect, resources like IBM’s Open Source Development Lab, and internship and career opportunities for during after your time at Marist.
