Campus Environment
Changes to Campus Spaces
Public health signage: Branded signage and messaging have been installed in all campus buildings, including academic buildings and residence halls, to continually reinforce community expectations.
HVAC system enhancement: In accordance with industry best practices, MERV 13 filters have been added to our HVAC systems, and air handling units have been adjusted to increase the amount of fresh air introduced into campus buildings.
Using Restrooms
The general guidelines for keeping yourself and others safe in any environment are no different
from what should be practiced in the restrooms, which include:
- Wash hands with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds.
- Dry hands thoroughly.
- Use a paper towel to turn off the sink and open the door to exit.
Using Elevators and Stairs
Guidelines may vary across campus buildings. If you must enter an unfamiliar space, check for instructional signage and markers. Effective, February 18, Marist has modified its masking policy to be mask optional. We encourage a “mask friendly” approach, whereby those who wish to wear a mask respect those who do not, and those who do not wish to wear a mask respect those who do. As a campus community, we ask that everyone demonstrate empathy and understanding toward each other.
If you need to utilize the elevator, consider using the cap of a pen, your knuckle, or your elbow to push the elevator buttons. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizers with at least 60% alcohol upon departing the elevator.
