OnlineAs an international student, assimilating to college can be difficult. But, for Janpreet Singh, becoming an active member of the Marist community was his ticket to success. Having studied Electronics and Communication Engineering as an undergraduate, Janpreet was drawn to Marist’s MS in Information Systems (MSIS) due to overlapping courses and in-demand career opportunities. As his mentor and friend, Janpreet found Professor Christopher Algozzine’s courses particularly meaningful as they aided in both his professional and personal growth, and helped expand his knowledge of information systems.
By continuing to push himself outside his comfort zone, becoming a tutor, and participating in campus events, Janpreet quickly became a known face around campus; in fact, he was the first graduate student to collaborate with the Junior Senate for Graduate Relations.
Today, Janpreet is a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer for League, contributing to solving real-world problems. He fondly looks back at his Marist experience and recommends students “Join a supportive community that values your growth and is committed to your success.”
