Students must register for orientation To register for orientation and complimentary airport pickup.
A Marist education is fuel for Loik's global mission.
Inspired to build businesses and relationships, Loik was born in Belgium, raised in Rwanda, graduated high school in Buffalo, NY. Loik’s global upbringing drew him to Marist and sparked aspirations to pursue entrepreneurship as a path to uplift communities back home. He’s a natural connector who bridges relationships through clubs, sports, and creative pursuits like poetry. Loik proves that impact comes in more than one form.
Employment Opportunities for International Students
International Student Services supports students in their search for temporary employment through Optional Practical Training (OPT). Watch the video to learn more about the OPT application process.
Curricular Practical Training
Responding to new guidance issued by the DHS Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), ISS is pausing CPT authorization for internships or practical training requests pursued solely through enrollment in optional internship or experiential-learning courses. Enrollment in an optional internship course, even when academic credit is awarded, does not by itself establish eligibility for CPT.
Marist will continue to review and authorize CPT when the proposed practical training meets applicable federal requirements, including when the training is required for degree completion for all enrolled students regardless of their immigration status.
