A Bachelor's Degree for Military Veterans

Marist College – A Military Friendly Yellow Ribbon School

Returning to college can be an exciting and difficult proposition for most adults, but for those entering college after serving in the military, the change can be even more jarring. As a military friendly school, we work hard to ensure that those who have served in the Armed forces on Active Duty or in the Reserves of the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, or Coast Guard are provided with a welcoming atmosphere, as well as a world class education. Explore everything Marist College has to offer for our military service members, veterans, and their families.

Located just 90 miles north of New York City, Marist features many advantages other schools just cannot offer. Our location gives us a prime network of faculty and staff who have helped lead businesses and organizations throughout the tri-state area. What’s more, our alumni network spans some of the largest companies in the City, meaning you’ll be learning from industry leaders, and be connected to tremendous opportunities.

Another highlight to a Marist education is our 100% online programs. Our BA/BS in Professional Studies was ranked a "Top 50 Program" nationally by U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Online Education Programs”. The Distance Learning online program option gives you the complete experience of your on-campus peers, but allows you to set your schedule towards what works best for you. Through the iLearn portal, you can collaborate with classmates, speak with professors, and discuss current assignments. You can also earn your degree in accelerated courses of 6- to 15-weeks in broad degree concentrations.

Military Vets Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® and Yellow Ribbon School

We understand that attending college can be an expensive proposition for those service personnel returning from Active Duty. As a military-friendly online college we off all the benefits of a Yellow Ribbon and G.I. Bill® school, and are proud to offer the benefit of a 25% tuition discount for Veterans, Active Duty personnel, employees on U.S. military bases, their spouse, and their adult dependents (at least 22 years old at the time of acceptance). We also offer additional financial resources and benefits to help fund your education. These include the Marist Military Discount, Montgomery G.I. Bill®, Post-9/11 GI Bill®, Military Tuition Assistance, New York State Veteran Tuition Award, and ROTC.

Finally, to make your transition even easier, the Marist College Student Veteran Organization offers a professional and social network of your service member and veteran peers. Let’s face it, not everyone understands the challenges of transitioning from military duty to being a college student, and this organization can provide the assistance you need when it comes to helping you decide the best course for your education and career.

We also work with all military veterans to ensure you earn the proper transfer credits you may have earned during your military service time.

There’s a reason Marist College has been named a top “Military Friendly School” by G.I. Jobs magazine since the inception of the G.I. Bill® college list. Contact us to speak to a counselor today about earning your Bachelor’s degree as a military veteran from Marist College.
