Denise Freeman-Twiggs, MS
Professional Lecturer of Medical Laboratory Science
Bio
Denise Freeman-Twiggs is a Professional Lecturer and Clinical Laboratory Scientist with a background in clinical microbiology and clinical chemistry. Denise is an alumnus of Marist University, where she completed her double major in Medical Laboratory Sciences and Biology. Denise started her career as a clinical microbiologist at New York Presbyterian Hospital. During her time there, she obtained her master’s degree in Infectious Disease from Drexel University, being awarded for her Academic Excellence in the program. During this time, she also worked as a research assistant for the department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. After obtaining her master’s degree, Denise transitioned into Clinical Chemistry as a lead technologist. Denise continues her work as a clinical chemist and microbiologist with her primary focus on clinical correlations in laboratory science, quality control, and evaluating new methodologies. In her free time, Denise enjoys watching reality TV and practicing mindfulness.
