Bio

Rachel Carrock joined Marist University as the Biology Lab Coordinator in 2024. Her education began at Skidmore College where she earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Biology, with a minor in Anthropology. During this time, Rachel engaged in a variety of research experiences ranging from computational simulations of proteins binding to documenting learning in local bird populations. At Villanova University, Rachel earned her Master’s of Science in Biology. Her thesis explored how individual differences in specific morphological features affect a gecko’s adhesive and locomotor capabilies and, ultimately, the behaviors they display in the field. She also gained experience teaching General Biology I and Microbiology laboratory courses during her graduate program. Following her Master’s, Rachel worked for NYS Parks, Recreation, and Historical Preservation where she performed invasive species removals and surveys throughout the Capital Region’s parks.
