Susan McKee, LMSW, is a Lecturer and Practicum Education Coordinator in the Master of Social Work (MSW) Program at Marist University. She brings over a decade of experience in clinical and community-based social work, with a specialized focus on trauma recovery, addiction, attachment, and systems-involved populations.

Susan has provided individual and group therapy in both in-person and virtual settings and holds advanced training in virtual therapeutic group facilitation. Her professional background spans outpatient mental health, geriatric care, harm reduction, and carceral settings. While at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility, she partnered with institutional leadership to designate the nursery unit as a trauma-informed care environment and launched a therapeutic horticulture program supporting maternal-infant wellness, food justice, and rehabilitation.

She also developed a resilience-based community program for at-risk youth, integrating empowerment practices with trauma-informed mental health education. At Marist, Susan teaches SWMP 508: Practicum I and SWMP 608: Practicum III, coordinates graduate practicum placements, and facilitates the Seminar in Practicum Instruction (SIFI) for practicum instructors.

As Practicum Education Coordinator, Susan serves as a coach and mentor to agency-based practicum supervisors, offering guidance to strengthen trauma-informed, equity-centered supervision practices. She is deeply committed to fostering collaborative community partnerships that enhance student learning and expand access to diverse, high-impact practicum experiences.

Susan's teaching and supervision emphasize reflective practice, cultural humility, and social justice. She is dedicated to preparing students for ethical, effective, and compassionate social work practice across both traditional and virtual environments.
