What’s New in Brightspace: January 2026 Updates Now Live at Marist

As part of our commitment to supporting an exceptional teaching and learning experience, Marist is pleased to share highlights from the January 2026 Brightspace (20.26.01) update. This release brings user‑friendly improvements across several frequently used tools making it easier for faculty to communicate clearly, support students, and work accessibly in the Brightspace. 

• Enhanced Announcement Emails

Keeping students informed just got smoother. When you include inline images in an Announcement, those images now appear directly inside the emailed version as well, ensuring students receive the message as intended, with visuals and all. 

• Assignments: Improved Accessibility 

Faculty using assistive technologies will notice improvements on the Assignments Submissions page. Dropdown menus for submissions, feedback, and results per page now include clearer and more accessible labels, helping everyone navigate more efficiently. 

• Pulse App: Better Deadline Visibility 

Students using the Brightspace Pulse app will now see start dates, end dates, and due dates for Content items—making it easier to stay on track across all course activities. This enhancement appears when using the latest Pulse versions on both Android and iOS devices 

• Classlist: Clearer Printouts (and a Note About CSV Export) 

When printing the Classlist, you’ll now see more detailed information, including pronouns, the course name, and the offering code—improving clarity for recordkeeping and advising workflows. 

• Quick Eval: Accessibility Improvements 

Like Assignments, Quick Eval has received additional accessibility enhancements to help instructors using assistive technologies to review student work more easily. This includes clearer labeling and improved navigation consistency.
