Honoring the Class of 2022
Marist College recognizes and celebrates the Class of 2022, whose accomplishments have lived up to the institution's mission reflecting years of dedication, hard work, and commitment. Here are some of the Baccalaureate Awards Ceremony recipients who have excelled in the classroom while being active members of the Marist community.

Skylar Harrison
Skylar is on the Volleyball Team and made the MAAC All-Academic Team, MAAC Student Athlete of the Week, and the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. She is also a member of SAAC, Beta Gamma Sigma, and is the co-president of the Investment Club. Skylar competed with the Marist Ethics Team and in the CFA Research Challenge. She interned as a summer financial analyst at Citigroup in New York City and will return to work there full time as a financial analyst after graduation.
Max Labrenz
Max is a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, Pi Mu Epsilon, and Alpha Chi honor societies. He has held internships at KPMG, The Walt Disney Company, Pepsi Cola, and Morgan Stanley. Max has been a leader across campus, specifically within Campus Ministry, Admissions, and Athletics. Besides making the dean’s list every semester, Max is the recipient of the School of Computer Science and Mathematics internship award and the School of Management Academic Excellence Award in Economics. He actively serves as a volunteer for his church and local soccer league. After graduation, Max will travel to Greece with a spring attachment business course.

Samantha Ann Musso
Samantha is an Honors student majoring in biochemistry with minors in biology, environmental science, and philosophy. She is also an active member of the ambassador student leadership board, an orientation leader, and has been a lab assistant for three different courses, including General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Ecology. Throughout her time at Marist, Samantha has conducted research in environmental science and biochemistry, as well as completed her Honors Thesis project analyzing microplastics present in string tea bags. She has had the opportunity to present her research at 11 academic conferences, including the National Collegiate Honors Conference in 2021 & 2022 and the American Geophysical Union Conference in 2021 & 2022. In 2021, she received a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates grant at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras, where she evaluated the role naturally derived compounds have in killing inflammatory breast cancer cells. Samantha has accepted the University Distinguished Fellowship at Michigan State University, where she will pursue a Ph.D. in Pharmacology & Toxicology.
Shivani Patel
Shivani is graduating summa cum laude with a B.S. in biomedical sciences and a minor in chemistry. She has conducted biology research and served as a biology teaching assistant. As the Executive Director for St. Jude Marist, she coordinated campus efforts that raised over $43,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She is a hospice volunteer in Danbury, CT and has also worked as an academic mentor for Upward Bound and as a student assistant for the Catskill Hudson Area Health Education Center to promote STEM opportunities for underserved/first-generation students. Shivani is a recent recipient of a Fulbright US Student Grant to India, where she will study palliative care, before planning to attend medical school.
