Fashion Magazine Recognized for National Excellence Four students win Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Circle Awards
New York City (Dec. 15, 2016) – Four Marist students have been recognized for national excellence by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association for their contributions to the Marist Fashion Magazine, Vol. 3.
The Marist students' work was selected for recognition from among 6,420 national entries in the print news and magazine category in the 33rd Gold Circle Awards program. The Marist awardees are:
1st Place, Non-Fiction Interview for "Cobblery, The Practice of Problem Solving" by Sabrina Whitford '18, Communication major, Pasadena, Cal.
2nd Place, Non-Fiction Article for "Prime Amazon, The Race to Now" by Melissa Annecchini, Fashion Merchandising major, Kansas City, Mo.
Certificate of Merit, Alternative Story Form for "60 Hours"
by Kara Sweeney '17, a Fashion Merchandising major from Blauvelt, N.Y., who wrote and designed the piece, and Isabelle Hanke '18, also a Fashion Merchandising major, from West Hartford, Conn., who photographed the design of Kristen Wong '17, a Fashion Design major from North Easton, Mass.
