POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Marist College has completed the sale of its location at 420 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan and will continue to continue offer programming and events there through a leaseback agreement with the buyer, Urban Home Ownership Corporation.

Located near Bryant Park, Grand Central Terminal and Pennsylvania Station, the space was designed by renowned architect Robert A.M. Stern (RAMSA) as a highly-functional adaptable interior. Prior to the pandemic, Marist events there included accepted student and alumni receptions, summer pre-college courses, career fairs for communication majors, A Sports Labor Panel with ESPN’s Michael Smith, and An Evening with Lester Holt, among others.

Additionally, the venue has served as a featured location for prominent events such as the Marist Fashion Program’s ongoing involvement with New York Fashion Week, programs featuring the nationally recognized Marist Poll, seminars and lecture series and receptions.

The College purchased the space in 2018.  While major operations were shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic, Marist used this facility to serve the New York City healthcare community by offering Medical Technology classes in partnership with Sloan Kettering and Columbia Presbyterian Hospitals on site.

By preserving its strategic location on Fifth Avenue through the lease agreement, Marist can continue its Medical Technology program and resume College activities on site for the wide variety of programming relevant to New York City.
