March 10, 2026 — The Cristo Rey Network has announced Marist as the organization's newest university partner. Marist joins 75+ additional university partners across the country that demonstrate an appreciation of the promise and potential of Cristo Rey graduates, many of whom are first generation college students.
Cristo Rey is a nationwide network of high schools that integrate fours years of academics with four years of professional work experience to equip students with knowledge, character, and skills. The organization’s mission aligns with Marist’s focus on blending liberal arts with pre-professional studies to develop well-rounded graduates.
“Welcoming Marist University as a University Partner is an exciting opportunity for Cristo Rey students,” remarks Sonya Ramirez, Director of University Partnerships. “This partnership will open new doors for our graduates, giving them access to Marist’s world-class academics and hands-on opportunities that emphasize experiential learning and prepare students for success beyond graduation.”
In addition to providing significant financial support for up to 10 Cristo Rey students who enroll at Marist each fall, the University will also provide full-tuition scholarships for eligible students to participate in its summer pre-college programs.
“Partnering with the Cristo Rey Network is a natural extension of Marist’s mission to expand access to a transformative college education,” said Sean Kaylor, Marist University Vice President for Enrollment Management. “Cristo Rey students bring remarkable determination, talent, and real‑world experience. We look forward to welcoming them and helping them build pathways to opportunities that last a lifetime.”
