December 9, 2025 — A flood of nominations — more than 350 in all — kicked off Marist University’s new Athletics Hall of Fame with major momentum. Now the selection committee is officially on deck: a lineup of alumni and campus leaders with deep ties to the NFL, WNBA, ESPN, college athletics, and the national sports media landscape.

Confident that this group reflects the very best of Marist, Director of Athletics Tim Murray shared his enthusiasm for each and every committee member. “Their insight, professional experience, and deep connection to the University will help us launch a Hall of Fame that truly honors generations of excellence,” he said.

The committee will meet for the first time this month to begin reviewing nominations and selecting the inaugural class, which will be inducted during Homecoming & Reunion Weekend in fall 2026.

Strong Community Response
This fall, Marist invited the public to nominate individuals for consideration for the inaugural Hall of Fame, and hundreds of nominations were submitted before the November 22 deadline. The nomination categories went beyond student-athletes to reflect the many ways Red Foxes contribute to the University’s rich athletic tradition, including:

Student-athletes: At least five years removed from matriculation
Coaches: At least two years removed from coaching at Marist
Teams: At least five years removed from the academic year of the special achievement
Contributors: Alumni, friends, benefactors, administrators, and others who have made a meaningful impact

These criteria were designed to honor the full spectrum of excellence that has shaped Marist Athletics.

Honoring a Legacy of Excellence
For generations, Red Foxes have earned conference championships, NCAA Tournament appearances, national awards, and academic distinctions. The new Hall of Fame will celebrate those achievements and the individuals, teams, and supporters who helped build Marist’s proud athletic tradition.

“I’m honored to serve on the Marist Hall of Fame Selection Committee,” said Greg Bibb '96, a seasoned sports executive with more than 28 years of experience in the industry. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to help honor and celebrate the accomplishments of Red Fox student athletes, coaches, contributors, and teams. Marist has a proud athletic history and the Hall of Fame will help ensure the outstanding achievements of the past are acknowledged and remembered now and in the future.”
