In 2017, the foundation endowed a scholarship at Marist as well as the Vanech Special Services Fund which meets the needs of financially disadvantaged students with learning disabilities. Vanech’s son, Nicky, is a Marist graduate. She resides in New Vernon, New Jersey.

Marist President David Yellen noted how pleased he was with the addition of Vanech and Gartland to the Board. “Denise and Greg will bring significant professional expertise and valuable perspectives to our discussions. Both believe strongly in Marist’s educational mission, and we are grateful for their willingness to serve the College in this capacity.”
Vanech and Gartland will have their first meeting as Marist trustees in February 2019.
