Read Speaker is an enhancement tool available directly within Brightspace that converts on‑screen text and course documents into audio. It can read aloud HTML content such as announcements, module pages, and discussion posts, as well as common document types like PDFs and Word files. As text is spoken, words and sentences are highlighted, making it easier to follow along. Users can start listening with a single click, adjust reading speed, and choose from multiple voice options and supported languages.  

Read Speaker also offers tools that support focus and comprehension. Users can select specific passages to be read aloud, look up word definitions, translate selected text, or download audio as an MP3 for offline listening. These features support diverse learning preferences and align with Universal Design for Learning principles.
