Marist Remains Top 10 in U.S. News Rankings, Earns Recognition for Innovation

September 23, 2025 — Marist maintains its distinction as a top-rated institution in the latest U.S. News and World Report rankings, demonstrating the University's continued commitment to academic excellence and dynamic student experiences.

In the Best Regional Universities North category, the University remains in the top 10 for the third consecutive year, ranked at No. 9. This category highlights institutions throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the U.S. that offer a full range of undergraduate degrees, as well as graduate programs.

Marist continues to excel in the quality of its undergraduate teaching thanks to its expert faculty, ranking #5 in the Best Undergraduate Teaching category for the North region. This ranking is based on peer nominations from faculty and administrators, and highlights the University’s dedication to providing exceptional undergraduate education and is a testament to the University’s faculty excellence.

“The Marist community is tightly knitted together around a network of support that encourages our students to explore, achieve, and thrive in their areas of interest,” said Dr. Carol Rinke, Assistant Provost for Student Success. “I am continually impressed with the personalized mentoring that is a signature element of our campus and community – the current rankings are a clear reflection that we are recognized across the higher education landscape as well.”

Additionally, Marist is once again recognized as one of the Most Innovative Schools, ranking 18th among all Regional Universities North. This is based upon peer recognition of the University's innovative improvements in education, student outcomes, and use of technology.
