2020-2021 Parking Update, August, 20, 2020

As we finalize plans for the arrival of students, faculty, and staff on campus, we are making changes to our policies to improve parking for everyone in light of COVID-19. Prior to your arrival on campus, please review the map depicting parking on our main campus, as well as the parking map for Conklin Hall at Dutchess County Community College. Below are some details to help you better prepare for parking during the 2020-21 academic year.

Register Your Vehicle:
To adhere to appropriate social distancing guidelines and to avoid lines, all parking permits will be mailed to the address of your choice upon registering online. All vehicles parked on campus are required to have a valid permit. Please click here to register your vehicle.

Parking Enforcement:
Parking enforcement will commence on the first day of classes on August 24. You are required to park in the lot(s) where you are assigned. There are signs at each parking lot entrance to supplement directions, as well as maps and additional information found on the Safety & Security section of the Marist website. Please note: parking fines vary from $30 to $100 per violation. Repeat offenders will have their tires booted.

Shuttle Services:
Shuttles to and from Dutchess County Community College’s Conklin Hall will be available approximately every 30 minutes, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm, Saturdays from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, and Sundays from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. This is subject to change based upon demand. Please know that masks will be required inside the shuttles. Look for the white Ford 12-passenger vans in front of Conklin and Donnelly starting on August 24.

Freshman Parking:
Following Marist College policy, first-year students will not be allowed to bring vehicles to campus. If you have extenuating circumstances such as medical or academic, a waiver will be considered through emailing safety@marist.edu. Exceptions will be placed at Conklin Hall at Dutchess County Community College, approximately two miles from campus. Please note, a shuttle service will be available to and from the main Marist campus.

Sophomore Parking:
For the 2020-21 academic year only, residential sophomores who wish to bring a vehicle to campus will be issued a residential parking permit for the duration of the academic year, even if you do not have the required 50 credits.

Commuters:
For the 2020-21 academic year, there are more options available for commuters. Please refer to the campus map.

Parking Updates:
The Fontaine lot will be available for residential students only for the Fall 2020 semester. This is subject to change based on demand. Faculty and staff that have traditionally parked in Fontaine are being asked to park in either the Dyson Lot or the Foy Lot.

The Midrise lot will be available for both residential and commuter students for the Fall 2020 semester. This has traditionally been a visitor lot utilized by Admissions. However, Admissions has moved to McCann for the Fall 2020 semester.

Thank you for your cooperation! Should you have any questions, please contact Marist Security at (845) 471-1822 or by emailing safety@marist.edu.

Sincerely,
John Blaisdell
