Holocaust Remembrance Event Features a Talk By Survivor Marion Blumenthal Lazan
March 27, 2018 — Holocaust survivor Marion Blumenthal Lazan will give a talk, “Four Perfect Pebbles: My Holocaust Story, A Message of Perseverance, Determination, Faith, and Hope,” at the Marist College annual Holocaust Remembrance event on  Four Pebbles book cover Tuesday, April 10, 7:00pm in the Nelly Goletti Theatre. This event is free and open to the public.

Blumenthal Lazan’s memoir, Four Perfect Pebbles: My Holocaust Story, recounts her childhood years marked by Hitler’s rise to power. The Blumenthal family—Marion, her parents, and her brother—were trapped in Nazi Germany. Though they eventually made it to Holland, so did the Nazis, forcing the family to live in refugee, transit, and prison camps, including Westerbork in Holland and Bergen-Belsen in Germany before moving to the United States.

Published in 1996, Four Perfect Pebbles has received numerous honors, including being named an American Library Association Notable Book. School Library Journal called the memoir “a harrowing and often moving account.”
